Airline Travel Hacks For Your Next Trip

Airline travel can be the toughest part of taking a trip. Booking flights, standing in line and sitting in a tight seat is something few people look forward to. If you have a trip coming up where you will be flying, here are three travel hacks to try.

Clear Cookies: travel sites typically charge more for repeat users and people who visit the website more often. When you are ready to buy a plane ticket, clear your cookies and expect to see a lower price.

24 Hour Window: most people might not realize that even nonrefundable flights have a 24-hour window to get a refund. So if you book a flight then change your mind or find a lower price somewhere else, feel free to get a refund.

Book two one-way flights: many times booking two one-way flights from different airlines will net you’re a cheaper rate. Some travel sites already do this, but just be sure to check around before booking.

How To Throw an Amazing BBQ

Just because you live in an apartment doesn’t mean you can’t have a cookout every once in a while. Just put your grill on the balcony or patio and go at it. Here are a few tips for hosting an amazing BBQ this summer.

Menu: BBQ’s can turn into a mess with foods and sides all over the place. Take back control of your food with a menu of meats and dishes that actually make sense. Does your event really need four types of salad? Stick to a simple menu instead.

Signature drink: you can have other drinks, like beers and wine. But a signature drink for everyone to imbibe is always a fun and conversation starting idea.

Start early: certain meats can take a while to cook. Chickens and ribs (and other pieces of meat) typically do better with a long, slow cook. So start cooking those meats a few house in advance. The burgers and hot dogs, however, cook quickly, so wait until the guest have arrived for those.

How To “Summer”-ize Your Apartment this June

Now that summer is here, your apartment might need a bit of a makeover. A home that was equipped for the fall and winter might not do so well once the weather begins to heat up. Here are a few tips for “summer-izing” your apartment his June.

Thinner curtains: replace your heavy and dark toned drapes with something thinner and more colorful. Thin curtains will let those late night summer breezes right into your apartment and help cool everyone off.

Light bedding: your bedding is another area that needs to be switched out during the summer. Those heavy and thick blankets will make you miserable once the weather gets bad, so buy some thin blankets now.

More mirrors: add a few extra mirrors in your bedroom or living room will help capture that extra summer daylight and brighten up a dark space with ease. The mirrors will also add a new look to your décor.
