Tips For Making Great Sushi at Home

Making sushi at home is much simpler than you might think and it doesn’t take a gourmet chef to make a few rolls. If you are looking to get the Asian cuisine into your apartment, here are a few tips for making great sushi. The larger process, however, should be learned with a simple YouTube video.

 

Sticky rice: you cannot use any type of white rice. It has to be sticky or sushi rice (which can be purchased at any super market). If you do not use the correct type of rice, your rolls will just fall apart.

 

Crab: fileting a fish can be the tricky part that requires a bit of skill. So skip the fish and instead try imitation crab and veggies. Find a few great recipes on Google and recreate those recipes instead.

 

Lots of water: if you are using the correct type of rice, your hands will constantly get sticky so have a water bowl ready to clean your fingers offer every few minutes or so.
