Appetizing Thanksgiving Sides

Though everyone craves turkey, here are some appetizing Thanksgiving sides.

Green Bean Salad is the easiest thing to prepare. Add hazelnut and cranberry to blanched green beans. Apple cider vinegar will infuse the tangy taste to this side.

Fresh Herb Rolls are best when made at home. After mixing yeast, sugar, and water, allow it to rest. Stir in herbs, egg, butter, salt, flour and bake it in a buttered muffin pan at 400 degrees F for 20-24 minutes.

Brussel Sprouts Casserole takes just 15 minutes. All you need is thinly sliced brussel sprouts, pepper, cream, cheddar and butter.

Prepare Bacon Onion Gravy by tossing bacon and onion in a skillet. The onion needs to be caramelized and the bacon needs to be crispy. Crumbled bacon, thyme, salt and pepper are necessary to infuse taste. Whisk chicken broth and flour and add to the mixture. Serve it beside the turkey to make it more tempting.

Tips For Making Great Sushi at Home

Making sushi at home is much simpler than you might think and it doesn’t take a gourmet chef to make a few rolls. If you are looking to get the Asian cuisine into your apartment, here are a few tips for making great sushi. The larger process, however, should be learned with a simple YouTube video.

Sticky rice: you cannot use any type of white rice. It has to be sticky or sushi rice (which can be purchased at any super market). If you do not use the correct type of rice, your rolls will just fall apart.

Crab: fileting a fish can be the tricky part that requires a bit of skill. So skip the fish and instead try imitation crab and veggies. Find a few great recipes on Google and recreate those recipes instead.

Lots of water: if you are using the correct type of rice, your hands will constantly get sticky so have a water bowl ready to clean your fingers offer every few minutes or so.
